Paleo Diet FAQs
What is a paleo diet?
There are plenty of ways to eat paleo, but basically, paleo friendly meals follow a paleolithic “hunter-gatherer“ style diet, which stipulates the only food to be consumed is the type of food our ancient hunter and gatherer ancestors ate. This means excluding food like gluten, dairy, legumes and processed food.
There‘s a high focus on whole foods like lean meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, eggs and nuts.
Which is the best paleo meal delivery provider?
Our favourite is A Life Plus because it has a huge variety of paleo meal options, and is catered to your personal taste, preferences, allergens and ever macros.
Is the paleo diet healthy?
A lot of people wonder if paleo diets are healthy as they can be quite restrictive. There are certainly some cons to eating paleo, but it really comes down to the individual and how much knowledge they have around healthy meals that are paleo.
That’s why a paleo meal provider is a great option for those on a paleo diet as it takes the guesswork out of the whole equation with ready-made, prepared meals that hit all your paleo goals.
Which is the cheapest paleo provider?
Checkout Macros or Foober – they both offer the cheapest, high-quality paleo meals sitting around the $9-$10 mark per meal.
Are there paleo meal delivery meal kits?
At the time of writing, there are no paleo meal delivery kits on the market in Australia, only pre-made meals that are good for paleo diets.
What’s the difference between a paleo diet and keto diet?
Keto is a high-fat, moderate-protein and low-carbohydrate diet, limiting carbs and instead focusing on healthy fats. The paleo diet (AKA caveman diet) eliminates specific food groups. A main difference between the two is the paelo diet allows for whole-food sources of carbs, as long as they don’t sit outside the specific food groups allowed on the diet. Both diets incorporate plenty of veggies as a source of fibre.
Is the paleo diet good for weight loss?
Weight loss is based on a number of factors, but a paleo diet can help you lose weight if done correctly. It’s high in protein, low in carbs, may reduce appetite and eliminates highly processed foods and added sugar.
Should I speak with a nutritionist before starting a paleo diet?
As with any new diet, speaking with a health professional like a nutritionist is recommended to ensure you’re eating a healthy, balanced diet.
Will I experience any cravings on a paleo diet?
When starting any kind of new diet you may experience cravings, especially if you’re eliminating certain foods you used to consume. As with any new diet, give it time and your body should adjust to the new way of eating. Any other concerns and you should speak with your doctor or health care professional.
Great suggestions, however nothing for Western Australia 🙁
